Week of November 4th-8th


We had so much fun at the Halloween parade and  party! A big thank you to our volunteers who helped with the Halloween party!

Reminders:
**Just a reminder that shorts will not be allowed to be worn after November 1st, until Daylight Savings Time Begins!
Please work with your child on identifying numbers 0-10, counting objects up to 10, and writing numbers 0-10 to help prepare them for our math assessment coming up.
There are new book logs and calendars in your child’s folder for the month of November.


What we are learning:
Reading: This week we are continuing with Unit 2, Week 4. The story of the week is Bear Snores On. The question of the week is: What unique thing does a bear do in the winter? The phonics skill is initial /k/ spelled Cc. The comprehension skill is realism and fantasy. Grammar skill is adjectives for sizes. The amazing words are: sleep, winter, cave, woods, storm, blustery. The high-frequency words are: we, my, like.
Math: We will be continuing with Unit 1: Numbers 0-10. The essential question is: How do we read, write, and count numbers up to 10?
Writing: We will begin Unit 3 of writing. We will be working on writing lowercase letters.
