Reminders:
Book logs are due October 31st. The Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31st will be virtually broadcasted. Students must bring their costumers to school in a bag marked with their name. Costumes must be appropriate for elementary.

What we are learning:
Reading: This week we are continuing with Unit 2, Week 3. The story of the week is Animal Babies in Grasslands. The question of the week is: What special animals live in the grasslands? The phonics skill is initial /p/ spelled Pp. The comprehension skill is main idea. Grammar skill is adjectives for colors and shapes. The amazing words are: calf, grassland, cub, pup, joey, foal. The high-frequency words are: we, my, like.
Math: We will be continuing with Unit 1: Numbers 0-10. The essential question is: How do we read, write, and count numbers up to 10?
Writing: We will continue with Unit 2 of writing. We will be working on review of numbers 1-10.

Week of October 14th-18th

As my kiddos said "today is the best day ever!", we had so much fun at the kindergarten Fall Festival! A big THANK YOU to the volunteers who made the day so special!!

Reminders:
Please continue to practice sight words with your child! I will be testing each student on their sight word list this week. Once your child has mastered one list, you may move onto the next list. I will send home a paper if your child mastered a list.

The comprehension skill is compare and contrast. Grammar skill is nouns. The amazing words are: seeds, fruits, buds, stem, bloom, petals. The high-frequency words are: have, is.
Math: We will be continuing with Unit 1: Numbers 0-10. The essential question is: How do we read, write, and count numbers up to 5?
Writing: We will continue with Unit 2 of writing. We will be working on writing capital letters and the number 6.
Science: We will be doing flower activities to go along with our story of the week Flowers.

Week of October 7th-11th

We had so much fun dressing up for Homecoming Spirit Week!

Upcoming Events:

October 7th- wear a blue shirt for bullying prevention day. It is a free dress down if your child wears a blue shirt.

October 7th-11th- Book Fair
October 9th- Picture retake day.
October 10th- FALL FESTIVAL!
October 11th- Act 80 day- ½ day of school. Dismissal @ 12:00

Reminders:
If your child is getting their picture retaken, please send in their pictures from previous order.
Students may wear gym clothes the day of Fall Festival (Thursday). Students will also not have to pack their own snacks that day. Snacks will be provided.
