What we are learning:
Reading- We are wrapping up Unit 4. We are on week 6. The story of the week is Abuela. We will be having a special guest reader this week!     The question of the week is: What kind of adventures can you have in the city? The phonics skill is /e/ spelled Ee. The comprehension skill is setting. The amazing words for this story are: abuela, adventure, flock, city, airport, harbor. The high-frequency words: here, go, from.

Math- We are on Unit 4: Addition. The essential question of the week is: How can two sets of objects be joined to become one larger set? We are doing a great job with adding!!

Math- We are on Unit 4: Addition. The essential question of the week is: How can we model and explain mathematical ideas?

Reading- We are beginning Unit 4, week 4. The story of the week is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The question of the week is: How can an adventure cause trouble? The phonics skill is /g/ spelled Gg. The comprehension skill is character. The amazing words for this story are: bears, porridge, cottage, big, middle-sized, small. The high-frequency words: one, two, three, four, five.

Math- We are on Unit 4: Addition. The essential question of the week is: How can we communicate mathematical ideas? 

Writing- We will be starting the Beginning Writers workbook. Students will be working on Narrative Writing!

Reminders:
There is NO school on Monday, February 17th. This day is marked on the calendar as a snow make-up day if needed. The first snow make-up day would be Friday, February 14th.

Reading- We are beginning Unit 4, week 3. The story of the week is One Little Mouse. The question of the week is: What adventures can animals have? The phonics skill is consonant blends. The comprehension skill is sequence. The amazing words for this story are: woodland, nest, vale, hollow, comfortable, shadows. The high-frequency words: one, two, three, four, five.

Math- We are beginning Unit 4: Addition. The essential question of the week is: How can objects be joined together? 
*Everyone did an EXCELLENT job on their Unit 3 math test. I am so proud!

Writing- We are wrapping up the Letters and Numbers workbook. We will be starting the Beginning Writers workbook. Students will be working on Narrative Writing!
